Melissa and Gabe had their baby and its a girl! Melissa is a great friend and has worked with me for a couple of years. She is also a fabulous photographer and now a new mommy! We've used the baby angel wings for a long time, and since Melissa worked here, she knew we had these giant wings not getting much use. She had the awesome idea for both momma and baby to wear wings and it really turned out beautiful.
We are training a new photographer to shoot bellies and newborn babies. Bethany (who also happens to be my cousin!) will be shooting "portfolio sessions" the rest of May and all of June and July to help build her portfolio and be the next great photographer at Kathryn Smith Photography (soon to be "Marvelously Made Photography", but more on that later...) Some of you may remember Bethany from the old website (2002-2006) because she shot the pregnancy image of me that inspired me to specialize in pregnancy and newborn photography.
This offer is for May, June and July only and for pregnancy and newborn sessions only. The portfolio session includes a free session (no sitting fee), minimum order requirement waived, 50% off regular print prices, 25% off all other products including canvases, digital negatives, and birth announcements. In order for Bethany to build her portfolio, a model release is required with all training sessions. The session location, backgrounds, equipment, and style will remain the same. Leona is a good friend of mine that is expecting her FOURTH boy! I put together this little collage to celebrate her boys and the baby boy to be. Handsome baby Tryon was a pleasure to shoot! I just love photographing parents holding their naked babies. Who knew someone's backside could produce such a wonderful piece of art?!? I am including a shot of their pregnancy session with big sister Ava, as well.
Baby Jaden was another very sleepy little guy. I love this close up of him sleeping all cozy with a blanket. We don't use many props around here, but I am having fun spelling things out with the blocks!
Here is baby GIRL Ava. She surprised everyone upon her arrival because she was supposed to be a boy! She was very sweet and sleepy. I love the image that shows how tiny her little hands are compared to her mommy's hand.
Dylan is back! The Bates family is loyal to visit me every few months & they were back again documenting Dylans most recent milestones! I love his eyes in the headshot and how much he looks like his daddy when they are grinning big.
Another great family shoot! They looked so bright and spring-like in their yellow, that I had to post a color shot - even though I am (obviously very) partial to black and whites. It so much fun to see my client's families grow larger and kiddos grow older each year!
What a fun time we had with brothers zachary and joshua. Great natural shots playing with mom and dad. And, of course, I love the feet!
Mom brought her other 3 kiddos to the first shoot, but decided to also get some done alone... so glad we did. They turned out gorgeous.
